Career Link
Career Link is a pilot program in Albuquerque which will enroll 120 individuals in subsidized employment. Employers will pay participant wages during the 6 month duration of enrollment. After an enrollee has completed 6 months of the program, case managers will assess each participant’s skills, interests, and abilities. Job developers have identified over 30 employers in the community who are ready to hire Career Link participants. The program combines education, elimination or reduction of barriers, and case management resulting in 40 hours per week of intensive wrap around services which include:
- 20 hours per week of subsidized employment
- Education or skills improvement
- Activities to overcome employment related barriers
- Weekly one on one case management
Career Link has partnered with Albuquerque GED, Inc. to provide onsite GED and ESL classes.
During the pilot stage of the program, only current HSD customers will be chosen to participate.
