Behavioral Support Services

The Bureau of Behavioral Support (BBS) is a part of the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) and is a statewide unit that exists to support persons with an intellectual and/or developmental disability (IDD) who are eligible for (or are receiving supports) through DDSD’s State General Fund (SGF) programs or the Developmental Disabilities Waiver (DDW) in their pursuit of meaningful lives.


Mission

We are a resource and conduit to resources for effective collaboration in service of people living lives that work. Within DDSD, our unique purpose is to promote the behavioral, emotional, and social well-being of the individuals we serve and their support systems.


Programs

BBS administers several programs throughout the state, including the Crisis Support, Positive Behavioral Supports and Sexuality Supports. Within each of these program areas, both SGF and DDW supports may be utilized to affect change for the person served.


Training

BBS offers technical assistance and Behavioral Supports Training on a variety of topics including positive behavioral, crisis and sexuality supports, community inclusion, human rights, and dignity of risk.
