Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) provides comprehensive services and supports for children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families across the state of New Mexico. Through state funding, DDSD is committed to enhance quality of life, promote independence, and connect individuals and families with specialized resources and expertise.
To expand statewide access to diagnostic services, training, and outreach, DDSD partners with the University of New Mexico (UNM) Center for Development and Disability Autism Programs and New Mexico State University Papen-Aprendamos Autism Diagnostic Center.
These partners provide services including diagnostic evaluations, family supports, community education, advocacy support, in-home training, school-based consultation, provider referrals, professional training, and in person and/or virtual support groups for children, teens, siblings, and parents.
If you are wondering where to start in accessing services for someone with ASD, please visit either program at the UNM Autism Programs website, or the NMSU Autism Diagnostic Center https://cd.nmsu.edu/autism/autism-diagnostic-center.html.
