SANTA FE– Today, the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) is reaching out to approximately 14,000 child support customers whose January monthly statements were mistakenly sent to the wrong address. To rectify this, accurate monthly statements will be sent out today.
“We’re swiftly addressing the mailing error and ensuring all affected child support customers receive the correct statements promptly,” said Betina Gonzales McCracken, Director for Child Support Services Division with the New Mexico Human Services Department. “Mistakes happen, and we take full responsibility. We appreciate the understanding of our child support customers during this process.”
Child support customers who receive mail from HSD’s Child Support Services Division with someone else’s name on the envelope are kindly asked not to open it and instead, please return it to sender.
Anyone with questions regarding this issue is encouraged to call the HSD Customer Service Center and follow the prompts to reach the child support line at 1-800-283-4465. Please note that heightened security measures are in place during calls to ensure the confidentiality of cases.
“We are grateful to the child support customers who contacted the department to report the error,” said Gonzales McCracken.
