Deleting PeopleSoft Cache

PeopleSoft saves a copy of every keystroke and mouse click in a Temporary File called a "cache". When the cache gets full many unusual thing happen: it is difficult to save work, buttons don't work or take you to strange places, data doesn't appear when it should, and it is difficult to log in because even passwords won't work to name a few.

The best way to avoid cache issues is to regularly delete the cache. Deleting the cache is nothing more than "re-booting" or refreshing the system and it only takes a few seconds.

It is recommended that you delete your cache at the beginning and end of each PeopleSoft session. Also, if your job duties require that you are working long sessions, you should delete your cache during the session. Even if you only use Time Entry, deleting cache must be performed regularly.

If you have any problems with PeopleSoft, try deleting cache before calling the Help Desk.
