Maximum Allowed Costs (MAC)
Attention Pharmacists: Please use the MAC Pricing Inquiry Worksheet so that we can research and respond to market fluctuations of drugs on the MAC list as quickly as possible. If you feel that a reimbursement level is not consistent with the pricing methodology described in the MAC Pricing Presentation listed above, please let us know. Use the worksheet and include the approximate gross margin spread between what you are able to purchase the drug for and the MAC limit.
We will seriously consider any information about the appropriateness of the gross margin percentage spreads currently being employed. The pharmacy must submit sufficient accounting information to determine that a given percent spread may adversely impact the ability of the pharmacy to provide services to Medicaid recipients.
