Contract Administration Bureau
The Contract Administration Bureau (CAB) is responsible for the daily operational oversight and management of the SALUD! Managed care contracts and the managed care program. CAB activities include both clinical and financial functions necessary to implement, oversee, analyze and evaluate approximately $1 billion in managed care contracts. The managed care contracts provide for the delivery of medically necessary physical and behavioral health services to approximately 300,000 children and adults in New Mexico. CAB assures access to quality care for recipients by educating clients, stakeholders, providers, advocates, and sister agencies about the managed care program and policies. CAB is also responsible for the identification and implementation of State and federal policy changes that may impact delivery of services. This includes the development of contracts and contract amendments, Requests for Proposals, Joint Powers Agreements, Federal Waivers and State Plan Amendments. In addition, CAB reconciles and analyzes managed care State expenditures and enrollment statistical data for appropriateness of payment for all managed care lines of business including physical health, behavioral health, and Coordination of long term Services (CoLTS). CAB works together with other MAD bureaus, MCOs or stakeholders to resolve issues pertaining to patterns of care, appropriateness.
