Salud!
Salud! is the umbrella name for New Mexico's Medicaid managed care program. Salud! Services are provided by contracted Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to provide Medicaid services to eligible and enrolled citizens. Clients enrolled into the Salud! program have until the 25th day of their third month in a Salud! MCO to change to another MCO. After the third month with the same MCO, clients are unable to change for the next nine months. Two months before the end of their nine month enrollment period, clients get a letter that lets them change their MCO. If clients want to change MCOs during the nine months, they need to fax or mail a letter to Medicaid that tells us why they want to change. Medicaid will review the letter and approve or deny the change request. To change from one MCO to another during open enrollment clients can call the Insure New Mexico!
