Under the direction of the HSD Chief Information Officer (CIO), the HSD Information Technology Division (ITD) provides timely and cost-effective information technology services to the department, its programs, divisions and offices, enabling them to fulfill the mission of HSD in an efficient and responsive manner and ensuring that HSD gains full benefit from its current and future investments in technology.

ITD is divided into two main functional areas — IT System Services and IT Program Support. Each of these areas is led by a Deputy CIO. This structure supports the alignment of Information Technology with the goals of the business.

From statewide desktop hardware and software support to sustaining the HSD local and wide area networks,IT Systems Services (comprised of the Communications Bureau, Production Support Bureau, System Operations Bureau and Data Management Bureau) is focused on excellent customer service through the HSD Network Help Desk, striving constantly to exceed the expectations of HSD users.

IT Program Support is home to the Application Support Bureau, Project Management Bureau, Quality Control Bureau and Web Services Bureau. IT Program Support is responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and operations of HSD applications — large and small — from cradle to grave. IT Program Support endeavors to translate the business requirements of HSD customers into fully functional automated systems that benefit all New Mexicans.
